Description: DAS Northern Lights MarbleRadioactive Lavender CobraMINT Collectors MarbleRun Date: 4/6/2019 This is another more recent marble from the DAS company started by Dave after he left JABO. I normally sell the more vintage JABO marbles, but every so often I come across a DAS marble that I think will become a nice collectable...and this is one of those. This marble is a fantastic example of a lavender Beauty that comes around once in every blue moon. The various shades of lavender vary from lilac to amethyst to orchid and they all blend together in a wonderfully pigmented fresco. This is one for the vault and if you get it, then I guarantee it will go into your "keeper chest". Oh yeah, don't forget this marble is UV reactive when exposed to a black light. See last pic. That glowing glass is the lemondrop glass. This type of glass is called Fluorescent. FYI...Fluorescence is the emission of light by a substance that has absorbed light or other electromagnetic radiation. It is a form of luminescence. In most cases, the emitted light has a longer wavelength, and therefore a lower photon energy, than the absorbed radiation...in case you are curious... :-) Another very collectable aspect of this marble is the internal cobra head that can be seen from multiple angles. If you search "cobra marble" you will get a good explanation. It is basically an internal colored glass swirl that is twisted in such a way to resemble a cobra head that is expanded and ready to strike...rather cool IMHO. I try my best to take high resolution pictures to show exactly what you are getting as well as to rotate the marble to give multiple views. I use a Canon Rebel DSLR with built-in flash to reveal as much detail as possible for a clear picture. This marble was manufactured using the 3/4" machine and the size of this particular marble is 0.680". Note: this marble is slightly smaller than most DAS marbles that roll off the 3/4" machines. It is much bigger than a peewee of course, but I feel it is still highly collectable. It is my policy to always note all details to avoid any misunderstandings ahead of time.
