The abrasive is Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide, the hardness structure is Medium-Hard, it is a med-dense stone, it has a vitrified bond and sulfur treatment. This stone is typically used for the "final" finish in hardened steels and pre- and post-chrome. This stone would be expected to produce a finish of about 15-20 micron. Fused white aluminum oxide (FA) is also a highly pure grain, with a more angular shape. It is typically used for “roughing” operations. Brown fused aluminum oxide is a general-purpose, loose grain abrasive that is used in abrasive blasting, polishing, lapping, or other finishing applications.
