Description: Dakota Stoneware Art Pottery Turtle Mug, Green Blue, Bushnell SD This is a beautiful hand thrown and glazed mug. It was crafted by Dave Huebner in his studio in Bushnell, South Dakota. Mr. Huebner has been producing stoneware in South Dakota since 1970. He is an expert on the historic stoneware of the area and his work reflects the culture, old and new, of the Dakotas. This piece of Dakota Stoneware has a curious little turtle perched on the top the handle peering into the mug. The mug has a glossy glaze in an earthy green color with a touch of sky blue drip around the top rim over a dark blue-black band. The turtle has appendages glazed in a darker green with a brown shell. The mug measures about 4" tall to the mug rim not including the turtle. The base measures about 3" in diameter. The mug capacity is about 14 ounces filled to the brim. The mug is in perfect pre-owned but unused condition with no cracks, chips, or stains. Any irregularities in shape or glaze would be from the hand made process. Please see the photos to judge the quality and condition of this piece.
