Description: Here I have for sale a lovely stated First Edition of C.S. Forester's Commodore Hornblower published in hardcover with this N.C. Wyeth jacket painting in 1945 by Little Brown. Chronologically #9 in the Hornblower saga timeline, the book is VG with clean blue boards and gilt. A couple of scratches, tight binding and clean unmarked pages. Some age tanning beginning to endpapers. The dust jacket is VG with still bright colors to jacket painting. Some minor chipping. Two closed tears on rear panel and some staining. It is price-clipped and protected in mylar. Remarkable condition for 85 years old.
