Built in the XIII century. Aedes Ars The castle of Crupet, located in Wallonia, in the village of Crupet (Assesse district, Namur province) is a castle of Belgian plain whose origin goes back to the XI or XII century according to some authors; If we attend to its architecture is more likely that its origin goes back to the first half of century XIII. The lordship of Crupet is mentioned since 1278 whereas the first mention to a work ("mannoir de Cripeit") is of 1304. In its origin, the robust tower was surrounded by deep trenches and belonged apparently to the count of Luxembourg to whom many other possessions were attributed to him. During century XIV the fortified dominion was yielded to the prince-bishop of Lige. In 1549 it became the property of the Carondelet family who added a floor covered by a pyramidal roof to the tower and converted it into a residential castle with its own farm. In 1629 or 1667, the property became property of the house Mrode and inheritances and marriages also passed by the hands of the Count of You and the Marquis de Bossire. The castle was abandoned for a long time and was repurchased in 1925 by The architect Adrien Blomme who reconverted it again in habitable. According to the little information available the castle of Crupet still belongs to the descendants of A. Blomme.
