Crazy Vintage Ham CB Radio Antenna - DRAWER - Home made Brew Wild GROUND Plane?

Description: so Ham radio guys are the craziest right ? one could argue like mad scientist, but this is a first for me... From Ham radio estate , legend goes he made this was for a friend that was not allowed an outside antenna in his apartment. So he made an antenna from a metal drawer. Large coax cable, about 20 feet long. looks like RG-213. see pictures, you can see how he mounted it to the drawer. the drawer measures about 16 x 14 x 6, of course heavy metal office type. I am not sure if the size and dimensions of the drawer played into his design, or just what he had laying around. being sold as-is, untested by me. must admit it is clever and only one on Ebay. thank you from great ebayer :This isn't an antenna, just a convenient mount for one. The actual mount is through the bottom of the drawer, the threaded female receptacle. This acts as a ground-plane, and mount, all in one. It clearly was not a very good ground plane, as indicated by the additional wire that was added, commonly known as a "tigers tale". Later on, a more common method was to use a magnetic mount antenna base, and stick it on a cookie sheet. I'm guessing the person that made this had no magnetic base, or cookie sheet, and just whacked a hole into a flat piece of scrap metal. Please see all pictures and use zoom feature.
