Description: Two French hand colored fashion engravings matted and in one frame. The prints are most likely from the 1830s or 1840s, showing fashions dated between 1811 and 1820. Framing was most likely done in the 1950s based on information from the person we bought them from. They are narrow wooden frames with glass, mat is a textured cream color. The prints are steel engravings with hand tinting. They are on laid paper and have definite plate impressions from when they were pressed. Size of the mat openings for them are around 7 inches tall with some width variation between 3.75 and 4.75 inches. Paper color is as shown in the photographs. The paper is lightly age-toned, there are no visible chips, tears, spots or stains. The frames and mats are in very good condition and had been hanging on a wall for years, away from the sun. The frame measures approximately 11.75" x 14.75". We pack securely and ship promptly. This item will be shipped in a sturdy box. All shipping includes tracking. We have other French fashion prints in frames that match this one. If you purchase more than one we will adjust the shipping to reflect a lower cost.
