Campaign - Mateur, Tunisia, Sept. 1943 - this military airfield in Tunisia was 4 km north-northwest of Mateur and 52 km northwest of Tunis and was used by the U.S. Army Air Force Twelfth Air Force in the Tunisian Campaign. Markings - dark navy/black with red stripes and yellow and black checkerboard tail with "Stud" in yellow with ace of spades under engine and other USAAF markings.
