Description: Control Theory of Nonlinear Mechanical Systems by Suguru Arimoto Estimated delivery 3-12 business days Format Hardcover Condition Brand New Description You will find robot arms and mechanical hands in almost every modern manufacturing plant in the world. However the problem of their control is a considerable one due to their limited dexterity and understanding the control of robotic motion is vital in their design. This book concerns itself with the theory and practise of these control problems. Publisher Description This book introduces a new framework for non-linear analysis and control of intelligent machines such as robot arms, mechanical hands, and other advanced mechatronic systems. It clarifies the physical and mathematical prinicples underlying the complicated dynamics of non-linear mechanical systems and deals with the design of controllers that enable sophisticated tasks to be executed. A new concept called `non-linear position-dependent circuits plays a crucialrole, together with passivity analysis as a generalization of the impedance concept. Adaptability and learnability of robot arms and hands as intelligent machines are aLso analysed through visibleexpressions of their dynamics via corresponding non-linear circuits and generalized impedance concepts. This approach may mark a milestone not only in development of a control theory for advanced mechatronics systems but also in the long path toward understanding the mysteries of motor control in the human central nervous system. Author Biography Dr. Suguru Arimoto received his B.S. degree in mathematics from Kyoto University, Japan, in 1959 and Dr. Eng. Degree in control engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1967. Since 1997 he has been a Professor in the Department of Robotics at Ritsumeikan University, Japan. His research interests include: information theory, control theory, cybernetics, robotics, and machine intelligence. Dr, Arimoto is an IEEE Fellow (1983), IEICE Fellow (2000), RSJ Fellow (2003), and JSME Fellow (2005), and was awarded the Royal Medal with a Purple Ribbon from the Japanese Government in 2000 and th Details ISBN 0198562918 ISBN-13 9780198562917 Title Control Theory of Nonlinear Mechanical Systems Author Suguru Arimoto Format Hardcover Year 1996 Pages 290 Publisher Oxford University Press GE_Item_ID:137007073; About Us Grand Eagle Retail is the ideal place for all your shopping needs!
