These wood blocks are finely sanded on all surfaces, free of splinters Material Usually, I use solid 6x6 Douglas fir. At times, if I do not have 6x6 in stock, then I will make this from glued-bonded 2x6 to form a 6x6 solid block. Finish Color Options You can get this in stained, or natural. If you don't want it stained, then message me after you order to let me know that you want it not stained. Care and handling for this finish is simple. Apply any furniture polish or furniture oil and use a soft cloth. Do not use paper towels ( !!! ) because the paper fibers can actually mar the surface. Do not clean with alcohol as that will dissolve the shellac finish. However, a drop or two of alcohol in the cloth with furniture oil can brighten up the glossy finish.
