Fading of the cover boards, along with spinal cover fading, causing difficulty to read. There is minor wear to all corners and spine. Book contains a total of 414 pages. Vol. 2 ) - THE SIGN of THE FOUR - Pencil writings / markings with sample in photo of title page. Person's name and date of Aug.11, 1907...along some child drawings on rear blank pages. Heavy fading of the spinal cover with book name, causing difficulty to read. There is fading and light staining of the cover boards. Some wear to the corners, and spinal cover. Front hinge is partially detached, and also weakness in binding near the latter pages. Pages 511-522 are completely detached, but are present with ruffled outside edges. Book contains a total of 558 pages. Vol 3) Some wear to corners and top and bottom of spine. Heavy foxing on title page opposite frontispiece. Slightly torn pages (341-346). Black stain on bottom of fore edge and bottom corner of back cover. Previous owner used marking pen on spine to mark the volume number.
