Description: 40 volumes of Shakespeare - each easy to carry with you and almost small enough to fit in your phone case Most of the volumes were first published from 1919 through the 20s, with updated editions through the 1950s To bookend the collection, it starts with The Life of Timon of Athens, first published in 1919 (no updated editions) and ends (appropriately or at least humorously) with All's Well That Ends Well, first published in March 1926 with a second printing in March 1958 The books are all blue, with THE YALE SHAKESPEARE in gold caps on the cover. The blue of the front and back, and the gold letters are nicely legible The spines of the books, however, are faded, with barely legible or illegible titles. In the spine closeup (last photo), Timon of Athens is on top, All's Well That Ends Well is in the middle, and King Henry IV Part I is on the bottom. The pages are in great shape with some yellowing but no foxing Many, but not all, of the volumes have a frontispiece illustration, some are on a glossy page, most are in ink on the same paper as the printing Some volumes have a plethora of underlines and margin notes, at least one is inscribed.
