This uprated, by a US# 230 Columbian 1c issue, usage of a Girsch and Roehsler card to a foreign destination make this particular item especially desirable. With a nice selection of postal markings including a July 17 (1893) Chicago, Illinois postmark, so this was mailed during the time and from the city where the Columbian World's Fair Exposition was taking place. There is also a Jun 18, 1893 New York transit marking and two 1893 dated Zurich arrival postmarks which were applied when the card reached Switzerland.
