DETAILS This antique steer horn spoon comes from an old New York collection and dates to the colonial/Revolutionary War Era.The hand-carved, 8" horn spoon has finger grooves on the edges of the handle--much the way fine metal spoons of the era would have had.The steer horn is translucent, as you can see in the photo with a strong backlight. See photo # 5.The spoon shows some antique use on the bottom of the spoon, which based upon the wear pattern, appears likely to have been used by a right-handed person. No repairs or restorations!
