Description: This lot includes the original electric motor and chime bar (5 chime rods) which was salvaged from a COLONIAL Mfg. Co. electric grandfather clock case that someone had converted to a quartz movement. Oddly enough they kept the original motor and chimes in a box in the basement. I obviously haven't run this in a clock for days to test it, but I was able to plug the leads in and and you can see in the video that it runs cleanly. The mechanism has a black and white dial that spins slowly to show that the clock is running. The clock does not automatically start when powered; there is a lever just above the black-and-white wheel to start the mechanism. The chime bars make a beautiful sound. The two longest chime bars are about 17" long. I will remove the hands for shipping. There is currently no pin in the tiny hole in front of the minute hand. MARKINGS: Hand side of clock movement: 130081 (stamped over a 1299xx number); back side of clock movement: MAUTHE - GERMANY in an oval logo, Below that is COLONIAL MFG. CO, No. 24S, 130081. The back of the clock motor reads HAMMOND, Synchronous Motor - Type C, Lot No. A-1. I'm guessing that aside from my video this mechanism hasn't run in decades. Assume that this mechanism will need some adjustment and lubrication to run normally and operate the chimes correctly. Since it was just thrust in a box years ago, the chime hammers are no doubt a little bit bent out of proper alignment and will need to be re-aligned for example. SHIPPING: If you don't need the chime bar, I can reduce the shipping by a LOT. That long chime bar dictates the box.
