Description: Here is a beautiful collection of 10 antique full color lithographs of various birds and poultry taken from old bird books. There are four single side bird prints including:“The Chipping Sparrow”“The Towhee”“Passenger Pigeon”“The Veery”These four prints measure approximately 5 1/2 inches by 8 1/2 inches. Besides the description and scientific name for the bird the following source is printed in the lower white margin —“The National Association of Audubon Societies” It is is interesting that one of these prints are of the Passenger Pigeon which has long since been extinct. It is likely that the Passenger Pigeon was still a viable species when these prints were drawn. There are also three two sided colored prints of poultry giving a total of six different prints which include: “Black and Narragansett Turkeys”“Bronze Turkey”“Buff Cochins and Rose Comb Black Bantams”“Mille Fleur Booted Bantams and “Silver Sebright Bantam”“White Pearl and Lavender Guinea Fowl”“White Holland Turkeys”These three two sided colored prints measure approximately 7 inches by 10 inches. These prints may have been cut from a National Geographic magazine because copyright and credit is given to the National Geographic Society in the bottom white margins of the these prints. Beautiful full color prints. Thank you for looking. Please check my other items of interest listed for this week.
