This type of statuette refers refers to the category of very distinctive objects dating back to the pre-historic civilization of Bactria. They are usually composite in nature, with the use of two or more different material. Those figures were generally found in necropolis which suggest that they had a funerary function like an image of the deceased or just a simple offering to the gods. The body of our example is made of chlorite and the head of limestone. A very and interesting idol.
