Designed by the legendary Reiner Knizia, one of the most celebrated designers of modern board games, this is his undisputed masterpiece. Taking the role of art dealers, players will take turns alternately being auctioneers and bidders in a series of auctions for pieces of modern art. But it's not just about turning a profit by buying low and selling high - as the game progresses, players will realize the importance of subtly influencing the market and the perceptions of the value attached to specific artists, based on the popularity of their works (hopefully, increasing the perceived value of those artists that they just happen to already have a personal stake in!). The mechanics are simple, the strategy is deep, and the satire is biting - leading to exciting, and sometimes surprisingly hilarious, gameplay. Please note that this is a copy of the board game version of "Modern Art," not the vastly inferior card game version. Both games have the same theme and name, but vastly different mechanics, which often leads to confusion.
