Hutschenreuther of Hohenberg, Bavaria. It has crater shape. Background of its surface is tan with yellow touch. Very expressive green ivy vine is embossed on front side. Vase is trimmed with gold at the opening. Looks splendid. Very famous German designer Egon Grießhammer (b. 1916) designed this vase. He started as porcelain painter for Schönwald before WWII. After war he worked for Heinrich (H&C Bavaria), then was a freelance and worked for Porzellanfabrik Schumann in 1950s until he was appointed as a head of Art Department of C. M. Hutschenreuther, Hohenberg in 1957. He created numerous designs for Echt Kobalt and other lines. Later he again worked for Heinrich and delivered a series of remarkable designs for the Gemmo Porzellan. German artist Wolfgang Köll decorated this vase. He also worked for KPM Berlin. Vase on this auctioin is marked on the backside with and standard green production mark used in 1940s. There is also incised Hutschenreuther form number 76/18 and décor number 02005 written in gold on the backside. Wolfgang Köll’s signature is written on the backside in black. Vase measures about 5 ¾” in its widest diameter and stands 6 ¾” tall. Condition is immaculate with no cracks or chips found. Colors are bright and vibrant. Gold has no wear. Little dirt on surface.
