Description: Civil War Union Cavalry Officer "Dave" Image Transfer from CDV matted 5 x 7 My late mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. She also loved to create collage photos and other works from her antique photos. In this case, she made a color copy of a CDV in her collection and used chemicals of some sort to transfer the image from the copy paper to a finer paper. (She explained it to me, but I never actually watched her do it.) I no longer have the original that this transfer was made from, but Mom wrote on the back of this matted print: "Dave" Union CavalryImage Transferfrom Vintage Photoc. 1863. Print and mat in nice shape and in plastic envelope. A bit of price tag residue on outside of envelope from when Mom was selling the photos herself.
