Description: My late husband left behind a slew of baskets, and I'm selling off the ones that my daughter and I don't want (yes, we've already sent baskets to all the friends and relatives). This small basket is one of his earliest experiments with wood bases. The base is oval, and the weave is interesting, because it tries to be round at the top. It is a finished basket with rust-colored thread accenting the top rim. The basket measures 5" round at opening and stands about 3" tall at the tallest point. The basket, if you'll note from the photos, resembles a boat, with high ends at the tips of the oval base, and the rim then dips along the sides. The oval base is 4" x 2" and is finished in a walnut stain. Great basket for trinkets. Stored in a non-smoking environment.
