Description: Antique Chinese incense burner / censer of circular shape, straight sides with raised band detail, flat top rim, tripod / three legs of elephant head mask design. On the underside, the censer is marked with a four character mark, believed to be for NEITAN JIAOSHE. The characters are surrounded by two dragons. 17.7cm diameter across the top rim.7.8cm tall1.1kg weight. Condition: areas of old metal polish have accumulated in the grooves/crevices - mostly at the elephant mask feet, and around the two dragons on the underside; some small brown spots on the polished surface, and a more typical bronze colouring on the inner side of the censer; some slight scratching on the underside of the feet. Approximately 8cm long crack in the top rim, with a corresponding soldering on the underside and the rim isn't perfectly flat; rectangular repair/insertion 1.7cm x 4mm in the rim - possibly the location of a removed hinge; may originally have had a decorative grill.
