Description: On offer is this silkscreen reproduction of a Chinese Mongol groom leading a horse to be presented as tribute to the Chinese court. The original was a hand-painted handscroll on paper by Chao Yung, Yuan Dynasty, 1347, after the Sung Dynasty artist Li Gonglin (1049-1106). I found this information on the Smithsonian website. Silkscreen on fabric, perhaps silk. Bamboo-style gilt frame. A gorgeous work. Professionally framed. The back has some information regarding this work. In very good vintage condition with wear consistent with its age. The top right corner of the piece - and slightly downward - has a little buckling where the material is coming loose from its backing. Probably could use a repair at some point. There are a few spots/stains as well. Approximate frame measurements: 40.5” wide x 1” deep x 24” high. Approximate sight measurements: 38.5” wide x 21.5” high.
