Description: This pair of silvered steel Chilean spurs or “espuelas” were and are still worn by “huasos”, or Chilean cowboys. The spurs are fully decorated covered in a silver colored metal. The pointed steel rowels show some surface oxidation. There are no maker's marks or stamps. Dimensions: 8 in or 20cm approximately (including rowel) Rowel: 3.5 in or 9cm approximately Both spurs weigh approximately 2.5 lbs or 980 grams Note: these spurs belonged to a Chilean family. The spurs are secured with old coins from Chile of the time (inscription on coins say República de Chile, see photos). The spurs do not come in its original box. Additionally you will notice some wear (see photos for details) because they have been used and tell their own story!
