Description: This specimen is Chilean Azurite/Malachite (and possibly some Crysacolla...not sure) that was dug and cut 50+ years ago. It measures 24mm x 23mm x 3.7mm in thickness. It looks like the epoxy backing is around 1mm in thickness The cab/specimen is backed as the Azurite is soft (compared to agate)...although it takes a great polish I don't think it is suitable for rings...I have set a couple of pieces in pendants. With the backing the piece weighs 19cts but the epoxy probably weighs 5-6 cts. Please look at the pictures carefully as they are an important part of the description...the last picture shows the epoxy backing. I shot a piece of Arizona azurite along side the Chilean material so you could compare color.
