Description: This vintage chess set from the 50' / 60's is in excellent condition. The box with it's retro design stands out with it's colorful display. Only one corner is torn which can be easily mended. The pieces are pristine and it appears as if they were never taken out of the cardboard holder. The Black King is the only piece not intact. The felt pads on the bases are in perfect condition. The playing board is "crisp and sharp" giving it the appearance that it too has never been played on. As far as vintage chess sets go - considering just how old it truly is - it is in excellent shape!!! This is one of those rarities - you have to love the retro harlequin designed box cover - so colorful!!! The box is in terrific shape considering it's age - very hard to find. The pieces are pristine as is the playing board. Made in the U.S.A. by Bar-Zim Products. This chess set would liven up any family room and be a GREAT CONVERSATION piece. Plus it is always FUN to play with an old chess set especially during the holidays. Please note - there are no checkers.
