HOWEVER, IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT SOME COLLECTORS ARE WANTING THEM STILL SEALED, IF THIS IS POSSIBLE, AND PREFER TO DO THE REPAIRS THEMSELVES. ON THE QUAD TAPES, WE ARE HAPPY TO OPEN THE TAPE AND MAINTAIN IT INCLUDED IN THE SALE PRICE. PLEASE REQUEST THIS IN "NOTE TO SELLER" IN THE PAYPAL PAYMENT. OBVIOUSLY THE TAPE WILL NO LONGER BE FACTORY SEALED. SINCE THESE ARE NEW UNOPENED TAPES, THERE IS NO WAY TO CONFIRM THE PAD TYPE OR CONDITION OF THE SENSOR FOIL. THE TABLE BELOW IS BASED ON OUR KNOWLEDGE OF TAPE TYPES AND WHAT THEY ARE LIKELY TO BE. SINCE MANY OF THESE TAPES CAN BE 30 YEARS OLD OR MORE, ALTHOUGH SEALED, THEY ARE SOLD "AS IS". Most using the 8 Track format understand the problems associated with these pads, sensor foils and of course the very age of all of these tapes. Although we play test our stock, it is still possible to have a splice failure. We do sell our tapes in good faith that they are in the condition stated, and that they are playable. All tapes are sold "As Is" Remember it is important to keep your machine, especially the capstan and heads, clean. A sticky capstan can grab the tape from the cartridge and destroy it.Cartridge is SEALED but the factory seal has let go in several places as per photos. The Cartridge remains unopened.
