Description: This Chamberlain's Worcester England plate from around 1820 is a stunning piece of Georgian-era porcelain., it features a hand painted Imari urn with a large purple flower winding out of it - then to one side there are lovely large detailed pink roses while on the other side of the urn is a hazy pastel view of water & mountains. It is a striking unique design. The plate has a relief border adorned with National emblems of shamrocks, thistles, and roses. In the book “An Illustrated Encyclopedia of British Pottery And Porcelain “ .,Geoffrey A. Godden F. R. S. A. On pg 61. It shows a dessert service with this boarder, describes it and states in the 1818 Company Accounts it is called “The New Union Border” The unique combination of design elements, along with the intricate hand-painted details make this plate stand out in a collection or by itself. 9” diameter. The plate is in good condition considering it’s 200 years old. There is wear to the gold on the edge and there is an impact hairline that is visible on the back.
