Description: SOLID CAST BRASS FRAME GREEN BEVEL EDGE VICTORIAN FLORAL SCROLL ANTIQUE MIRROR Up for your consideration is this really cool cast iron antique wall mirror. It is made from a solid casting. It was signed on the back, in the lower right corner of the back it has "NBSIW" and in the lower right corner it has "2020" with a larger format capital "A". It has ornate scroll work and floral placements - and even a center area enamel painted is a dark green. However please be sure to read the condition as the frame is cracked - but that does not take away from the real beauty that this is. Please be sure to see all the other items we have listed. FEATURES: Heavy die cast iron mirror frame - beveled edge mirror - dark green enamel painted area. Highly detailed and dimensional. ADD. INFO: Ok from what we were able to find on the web is that is ether the type (formula) of the iron used to pour this frame -or- the initials of the foundry were it was poured - As far as the "2020" we believe that is the style number - we are not sure about the "A" but it could have been operator - or a date code... we were only ably to find one reference to a similar cast iron mirror frame on google but the reference was so old that the page was missing... If anyone knows more about this beauty we would surely appreciate an email. INCLUDED: The actual brass mirror frame pictured. NOT-INCLUDED: No original box, packaging, or paperwork. No props used for size reference. BRAND: Lettered and numbered but we were not able to discern the maker. Unknown. LABEL: N/A DIMENSIONS: It measures 12" wide x 14-1/2" tall the mirror is 7" wide x 8" tall. It is about a 1/2" thick, quite heavy at nearly 7 pounds. COLOR: Antiqued Brass or bronze tone - dark green enamel center area. TYPE: Antique decorative arts, Cast iron mirror frame. MODEL #: 2020 (possibly mold number or style) COPYRIGHT DATE: Unknown CIRCA: Likely around the 1920's give or take 10 years. COUNTRY: Most likley in the USA MATERIAL: Cast Iron frame - Glass mirror. CONDITION: This comes to you in good condition. However as can be seen in the close-up of the lower right corner, there is a crack - also the start of a crack in the upper right corner - but as you can see on the back - the mirror is held in place by a heavy tin plate that is screwed into the frame in 8 different places and this serves to hold it in place and reduces the chance that the upper right corner crack will get any worse, this crack probably happened when the kickstand got broken off, probably knocked off a dresser... It use to stand but no longer can because the kickstand is missing. Also You can see that the outer edge of the mirror has deteriorated a bit - but the center area is fine - which is nice. So to re-cap the kickstand is missing - it is cracked on the upper and lower right corners - and the mirror edge has flaked a bit. But aside from that this is still a sturdy and HEAVY and ornate casting. A totally awesome mirror from an era long gone. AUTHENTICITY and your SATISFACTION are UNCONDITIONALLY 100% GUARANTEED!!! Sounds pretty simple but sometimes not.
