Description: A super diminutive rose bowl produced sometime between the late 1800s to about 1920. Unmarked so I am unsure of the country of origin or the manufacturer. The body is a beautiful cream, colored hue with the rim and inside an opaque pink. Miniature rose bowls have become harder to find as they tend stay in collections because of their small size. This sweet example measures 2 1/4” tall and 3” across the middle of the body. As one picture reveals, the bottom has a ground polished pontil. I also included a picture of this bowl glowing in the presence of ultraviolet light. No chips, cracks, damage, or repairs, the inside is clean, showing no staining or residue from use. The only flaw I can find is a pinpoint dark ash fleck which lodged in the liquid glass as this item was blown and molded. This is common with early glass as the factories often had particulate matter floating in the air from the coal furnaces. A wonderful small example of art glass produced many years ago.
