Made from locally harvested and milled-to-perfection Poplar wood that has stunning tone and finish as is, but is also known for its ability to take paint or stain. Stands 77” tall and fits a standard King mattress perfectly (80x76). This setup requires a box spring. The mattress/box spring sits approximately 8” off the ground, inside the base boards which sit 6” off the ground. Our bed's assembly process takes advantage of the pocket hole assembly method and involves driving screws directly into solid wood during assembly. With almost 30,000 beds sold over the past 6 years the pocket hole assembly method has been a tried and true assembling technique for our beds. Tools required are a power driver/drill and a #2 square drive bit (6” long version) which is included with the bed. Assembly is fairly easy, especially with 2 people. Comes with instructions. Note that this is an all-natural wood product. There may be slight color variance between pieces. We use a clear-grade poplar wood, which is by definition defect-free but may contain a few smaller, less noticeable knots. At times you may receive wood that has a green tint to it. This is because we mill it down and expose wood that hasn’t seen much light or air yet. Over the course of a few days or weeks (depending on the lighting and air movement through the room) the green will fade out to light tans and browns. Your purchase plants trees!
