Description: Great Vintage 1890s Cabinet Card portrait of old woman thats finding it hard to smile. This image was purchased from a relative of Schemm/Kuehnle families. Unfortunately this image is not unidentified - a genealogy challenge - but I feel that she could be the mother of Rosina Schemm who lived with the family - see quote and photo of family at leewiegand dot com. I have other photos listed on ebay with Rosina (you can see the resemblance. The photo was taken at the "Meynen & Co Studio" in Philadelphia,PA.I have a number of the family images currently listed for sale on ebay. Hopefully someone out there can identify some of these photos. Peter Schemm had a Brewery in Philly but later committed suicide by jumping over Niagara Falls being despondent over loss of eyesight - tragic. "Rosina (his wife) is probably the name her husband used for Friedericka Rosina Schill Schemm as this is the name she put on a few of the census forms, probably to distinguish herself from her mother, who shared the same name and who lived in their household for many years.
