From a family estate of a gentleman's collection of gay and male related photographs and ephemera. Most items are from the early to mid 20th century and includes loose photographs as well as some pictures that were cut by the owner from an antique photo album. Digital Reprint This 4"x6" print shows 4 shirtless young men who are about to compete in the Caber Toss, in which they have to throw some big wood, and whoever pitches theirs the farthest, wins. They are all shirtless, wearing athletic shorts that button in the front, and they are all wearing track shoes, likely for the traction you need to get all that wood up in the air. The man closest to the camera has a very short military buzz cut. You'll not that all of these men have a fairly even musculature because they need upper body strength to throw the log, and good leg strength to make their approach while at the same time lifting.
