All photograph's are authentic, rare & quite extraordinary. Most printed c1920/30's although we have a few that date to the 40's. This is a rare opportunity to own one of his amazing images. Mr. Cremer was a charter member of the Photographic Society of America, participating in more than 100 photographic exhibits. His works are reminiscent of contemporaries like Alfred Cheney Johnston & Edwin Bower Hesser, shooting nudes & portraits alike. He was the grandson of James Cremer (1821-93), a pioneering photographer from Philadelphia, Harry’s father, Frank R., was a photographer as well, and young Harry was undoubtedly influenced and inspired by both of them. Shortly after graduating from high school, he attended Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. H.R. Cremer first exhibited his photos in 1924 and, over the course of his career, he participated in well over 100 exhibitions and art saloons. H.R. Cremer served as a charter member of Photographic Society of America and as President of Brooklyn Institute of Arts, Photography Department (now Brooklyn Museum).
