Description: c.1935 8x10 Football Team Photo Eveleth J.C. w/ John Mariucci & Yearbook w/Names 1935 vintage antique original 8" x 10" photograph of the Eveleth Junior College (Eveleth, MN Minnesota) football team. Also included is an original 1935 school yearbook from Eveleth Junior College, which was owned by a member of the team. The photograph was found in the middle of the yearbook, so obviously was also owned by the player. The same photo was used in the yearbook and lists the names of all of the players. John Mariucci is in the lower right (seated, first row) of the photo. Mariucci played both hockey and football for the University of Minnesota Gophers. He went on to serve as captain of the Chicago Black Hawks of the NHL. He also played for the St. Louis Flyers, Minneapolis Millers, and St. Paul Saints. He coached the Univesity of Minnesota as well as the 1960 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team to the silver medal. Later, he also worked for the Minnesota North Stars. The University of Minnesota hockey arena is named for Mariucci. He has been elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame (both the Toronto and US Hockey Hall of Fame, which is located in his hometown of Eveleth, MN).
