Description: This is an antique French-made real photo postcard by NPG - a photo of an Edwardian girl with yellow roses and embellished, hand-applied pearl buttons. On the back there is a 1/2 half penny green stamp (Great Britain George V). Downey head? with bullseye cancellation. It looks like 9:30 pm and the number 14. The denomination of the stamp is 0.5p (half penny); this stamp was issued from 1911 to 1920. I believe the address is in the Clay Pilts Cottages in Stratford-upon-Avon. The writer asks the receiver to get her a box of liver pills at Speechlys and says that she'll be arriving by train from Sixpenny(?). It looks like it is stamped "Ridgeworth" (there is a Ridgeworth about 100 miles from Stratford). I am not a stamp expert and the specs of this world can be very confusing. The stamp appears to be in fantastic condition but please ask any questions before purchasing. Acquired about 25 years ago from the estate of a big collector who traveled the world and had some very scarce paper items. This will be shipped in an envelope between flexible paperboard sheets as protection; stiffeners may not be used (per USPS regulations) at this shipping rate. Contact us if you'd like to upgrade the shipping method at an additional cost. Where possible, we will combine items to reduce shipping costs; please contact us before paying if you'd like us to combine listings.
