Description: c1875-1900 Nice Set 3 Gorham Sterling Silver Repousse Salt / Pepper Shakers Presented is a lovely set of three Gorham sterling silver salt or pepper shakers. These shakers date to the last quarter of the 1800s. The shakers are beautifully chased with an ornate floral repousse design, consisting of detailed flowers and leaves against a finely textured background. On the front of each shaker is a cartouche bordered by decorative scrollwork. Two of the cartouches are blank while the remaining cartouche has a monogram of AEC. Two of the shakers stand on three trefid form feet, while the remaining shaker has feet in a different style. This set is in great overall condition. Two of the shakers have had a monogram removed, but the silver is still thick and sturdy. There are no splits, no breaks, no chips, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs. The underside of each piece is stamped 'sterling' and with the maker's mark for Gorham. Each shaker is about 4 5/8 inches tall.
