Description: Presented is a lovely pair of Victorian multi-colored gold earrings. These are American earrings, dating to around the 1850s. The earrings are done in a design of a bird and two leaves above a scallop shell holding a gold 'pearl,' with a little round dangle beneath. The leaves are done in green and rose gold, while the bird and shell are done in yellow gold, with the pearl and dangle in rose gold, for a nice contrast in colors. The leaves, shell, and bird are finely hand engraved and textured. The earrings have wires for wear with pierced ears. The earrings are in great condition. There are a couple of spots of solder on the back, likely from how the earrings were before having the wire tops added. The earrings are not stamped or hallmarked, but we have tested each piece with nitric acid and guarantee that the top ball/hook portion is 14 karat gold while the rest is 10 karat gold. Each earring is about 2 1/4 inches long. The total weight for the pair is 6.1 grams. -jm Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
