Description: C F Monroe Nakara Lidded Hinged Glass Box, Blue/White Courting Couple Beautiful antique lidded dresser box, hand decorated over a white opal ware glass body. The lid and body are finished in pastel shades of blue and cream, with pink flowers and the white enamel beading commonly found on Nakara pieces. The top of the box features a finely detailed transfer portrait of a courting couple. The ormolu trim is attached with plaster of paris, which can be seen on the inside of the bowl and lid, near the rim. 1890s through 1916.Condition: Very small paint flake and scratch on the body of the bowl; decoration is in otherwise excellent condition with very little wear. No other chips, cracks, or repairs. The ormolu rims are in very good condition, but the clasp is missing. No liner. Marks: Stamped Nakara C.F.M. Co.
