Description: Offered for sale is a nice example of a smaller sized cast iron "'Presto Bank," manufactured by the A.C. Williams Co. between 1905 and 1934. These banks came in a number of sizes, and this example measures approximately 3 5/8" high x 2 3/4" wide x 1 3/4" deep. As can be seen from the pictures, it is in very fine condition: there are no breaks, cracks or other damage, and it retains its bronze finish. The original twist pin has been replaced with a homemade pin, but it seems to work fine to secure the two halves. As with any piece of this age, there is some playwear and consequent loss and fading to the finish here and there, but the piece displays nicely and is a fine example of a very early architectural bank.
