Description: Child’s Cup & Saucer ‘BOUQUET’ Broadhurst & Green, c 1846, Staffordshire Miniature Reference: Maurice and Evelyn Milbourn, ‘Understanding Miniature British Pottery & Porcelain,’ Figure 68, p 64. This is a child’s earthenware cup and saucer transfer printed in black on a white background in a pattern named ‘BOUQUET.’ The bottom of the saucer has the Anchor insignia and impressed Anchor mark for Broadhurst & Green, Longton, Staffordshire, that was in business from 1846 – 1852. The main pattern illustrates a group of flowers that repeats on the outside of the cup, and with a flower in the bottom of the cup. There is also a deep border with swirl designs and small flowers that repeats on the inside edge of the cup. (1) Cup: 3.25” W x2.5” D x 1.5” H(1) Saucer: 4” W x 1” H Please excuse the white reflections in the photos. This miniature child’s Cup & Saucer is in excellent condition. There may be minimal crazing, possible transfer skips or smudges, and minor typical firing imperfections consistent with production methods at the time of making. Presented as is and as found.
