For thy arrows are fastened in me: and thy hand hath been strong upon me. There is no health in my flesh, because of thy wrath: there is no peace for my bones, because of my sins. For my iniquities are gone over my head: and as heavy burden are become heavy upon me…). Psalm 37 (KJ 38) is the third of the Penitential Psalms. The Penitential Psalms are a group of 7 psalms considered appropriate for prayer during times of repentance. This Book of Hours leaf was scribed circa 1460. This is a beautiful and highly ornamental original, about 575 years old, not a reproduction. It is in exceptionally nice antiquarian condition as shown in the photos. The colors and gold are fresh and bright. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
