Description: You are looking at a yellow Hall of Fame Plaque Postcard autographed by spitball pitcher extraordinaire Burleigh Grimes. Grimes autographed the yellow portion of the front above the image of his plaque in black ballpoint pen. The autograph has been authenticated by JSA and has been slabbed by SGC. You may recall they had a partnership several years ago for slabbing JSA certified autos. This item will arrive in their tamper-proof slab as pictured. When the spitball was banned in 1920, Grimes was named as one of 17 established pitchers who were allowed to continue to throw the pitch for the duration of their careers - and he was the last to legally throw the spitter. Ol' Stubblebeard was most well known for pitching and winning Game 7 of the 1931 World Series for the Cardinals - with a dislocated vertebra. Most curiously, Grimes had a total of 36 Major League teammates who would later be elected to the Hall of Fame. No other Hall of Famer had more Hall of Fame teammates. The item you see pictured is the actual item you will receive. Please check out the pics for condition. Feel free to email me with any questions.
