Bugatti 1936 57S Atlantic S/N 57473 1/43

Description: 1936 Bugatti 57S Atlantic S/N 57473 This model was hand built by Ilario in France to amazing detail. 1/43 scale This gem has a very amazing history: S/N 57473 was the third Atlantic factory order and was delivered in December 1936 to Jacques Holzschuch in it's black livery. The following spring, the car was shown at the Concours d`Elegance in Nice France. In 1939 the bodywork was modified by Figoni et Falaschi. A compressor is also mounted (supercharger). In 1952, the Bugatti was acquired by Marguerite Schneider for her lover Rene Chatard. Three years later Chatard and one of his mistresses were tragically killed when a train crashed into the Bugatti. The car was almost destroyed and was stored in a warehouse for nearly a decade before being returned to Mrs Scheider who immediately sold it to a scrap dealer in Gien. It was then resold to a young Bugatti enthusiast, Paul-Andre Berson. At the time the Atlantic was already becoming very valuable, as Berson began the restoration which took many years.It was sold again ten years later to French collector Nicolas Seydoux. Seydoux regularly showed the car across Europe, and finally sold it to it's current owner Lukas Huni around 2006. Both Seydoux and Huni met in the studio of Paul Russell Restorations with a request to put original damaged parts left off when previous restored by Berson. The car was taken apart, it receive a new wooden frame, restored all the damaged parts and the restoration was completed. It was first shown in Pebble Beach in 2010. Paul Russell Restorations completed an amazing restoration returning it back to it's original condition with it's original parts. This car of course is very special as well as the model built by Ilario. Limited to 50 pieces
