Released in 1998, discontinued in 2005. Lovely boxed condition including the inner box, bag and foam protection. Superb detail and reassuringly heavy. Hand made white metal model with polished metal bumpers, headlights, grille, bonnet emblems, bonnet hinges, side semaphore indicators, fuel tank cap, boot hinges, rear lights, number plate and light. Treaded rubber tyres and body-coloured wheels with polished hubcaps. Detailed red interior with bare metal instrument panel and switches, grey, 3-spoke steering wheel. Silver in black number plates NGW860. The Austin A40 Sports was introduced at the 1949 London Motor Show at Earls Court[2] as a four-passenger, aluminium-bodied convertible variant of the Austin A40 – carrying an Austin of England nameplate, bearing Austin's Flying A bonnet mascot hood ornament, and designed and manufactured in conjunction with Jensen Motors. Production of the A40 Sports, which was intended as a sporty touring car rather than a true sports car, began in November 1950 for model year 1951.
