In his hands is the creation of the human mind and hands - a rocket that will help people overcome cosmic distances and comprehend them. The monument was erected in the park in 1958, a year after the launch of the first artificial Earth satellite and three years before Yuri Gagarin's flight into space. Manufactured at the Mykolaiv shipyard (at that time USSR, now Ukraine) ("NIMOR" ). The sculpture bears the manufacturer's stamp and the price at that time.
