Mene French, hunter with horn and hounds, possibly Grand Gason Saintongeois Hounds (Virelade Hounds) The Piece is signed by P.J.Mene (1810-1879) This is a finely detailed vintage piece on a marble base with a lovely green patina on the hunter’s Louis XV era clothes. I was gifted this piece in 1989 from an elderly hound breeder who owned an antique store with his wife. In his youth he hunted with hounds so when they found it, he held on to it and later when he passed, he left it to me as a gift. This bronze is in good condition. There is a small little spot that looks like a tiny hole behind the hunter’s left foot. (See photo) There is a loose piece of wire on the horn that doesn't quite meet the hunter’s arm.
