Description: This wonderful COMPLETE SET IN A SERIES OF 50 Royal photographic cigarette cards was discovered in a vintage cigarette packet and came from the well-known Robert Murray Stamp Shop of Edinburgh, Scotland, purveyors of stamps, postcards and cigarette cards. The astonishingly sharp photography on these cigarette cards features the British Royal Family. Each card depicts the King and Queen and family on many of their Royal duties, from the 1920s-30s. The series of 50 cards is called OUR KING AND QUEEN, produced by W. D. & H. O. WILLS. It was issued by the Imperial Tobacco Co of Great Britain & Ireland Ltd. The back of each photo card is numbered and states the year, with a detailed description of the event depicted. Although the backs are adhesive there is no sign of the cards sticking together, and they are nicely preserved in their original state. Please note the Capstan box insert has old handwriting that says '2 Missing, 12 & 42'. BUT #12 and #42 CARDS ARE INDEED IN THE SET! (see final photo of aforementioned two cards) I have counted 4 times and find that there are NO MISSING CARDS. This is A FULL SET, with NO DUPLICATES, despite the previous owner's handwriting. There are 50 cards in a series of 50. The cards are an excellent addition to any collection of tobacco cards or collectibles, and come with the Capstan Navy Cut Cigarette packet that stored them.
