The collection Includes many carved high post bedsteads, bed steps, several sets of dining chairs, a number of unusually large dining tables, sideboards, tea tables, bookcases, cupboards, presses, cabinets, etc. Nov offered for sale at The Old Sugar House, Bristol, RI. According to a 1908 article, Clifford W. Ashley, the artist, has always had a bad case of "collector's Itch". It led him far afield not long ago to the Island of Jamaica, where he went Into the old furniture business at wholesale. The result of his visit was a schooner load of antiques that filled a warehouse when landed at Providence and brought collectors from all over the state. Note that some margins may be trimmed rather tightly due to the nature of the layout of the advertising in the magazine. What you see reflects the actual margins of the clipped ad. Watermarks are added to the scans - the actual item of course does not have one.
