Description: This listing is for a Brilliant Green Antique Turkoman Maine Oriental Rug Carpet , baring 40 Guls . measuring about 69 inches by 102 inches overall at maximum including fringes ( 92 inches pile only , plus about one inches flat woven foundation on each end plus 5 inches and 3 inches fringes with varying lengths , about 1 inches of fringes on one end if trimmed to equal length . The short fringes could be restored instead of trimming. Both ends are open and should be secured to prevent unravelling. It Weighs about 22 lbs. net. Wool pile, Warp and Weft . Brilliant colors with 40 guls decorating the field. Mid section after last gul before the most inner border, the green field ( about perhaps 4 cm x 20 cm ) pile is worn down to knot ends . Please see specific images. It still can be used as is and is not a soar spot. A pea size spot / yellowing in white of one gul as shown , very small and irrelevant . Variant Green dye lots suggests that wool was dyed in small batches probably as they migrated from one place to another. Green field therefore has what they refer to as abrash ( or different shades of green ). This is very pleasant. It has been soak washed by a textile conservator multiple times , last on 8/30/2019 and is clean enough to touch face with. It will be shipped folded and rolled as shown .
